The gorgeous Theatine Church is located in the heart of Munich, Germany, overlooking the Odeonsplatz. It was built in the 17th century and features a classic-style baroque design. The facade features two curved domes with cupolas, adorned with gold-stenciled decorations, and a grand main staircase leading up to the entrance. Inside, the church features lavishly decorated chapels, a grand organ, and a beautiful painted ceiling – all typical features of Bavarian Baroque architecture. The northeast chapel is dedicated to the patron saints of the city, Saints Joseph and Corbinian, as well as another to the Virgin Mary, while the large central altar showcases a brilliantly painted altarpiece. Visitors can enjoy majestic views of the city and its historic monuments from the church’s terrace.
