The Hummingbird located in the Estudiantes area of Peru is one of the famous Nazca Lines, a series of ancient geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert. This particular geoglyph is in the shape of a hummingbird, with a wingspan of 93 feet. It can only be viewed from the air, either by helicopter or small plane. The flight over the Nazca Lines lasts about 30 minutes and allows visitors to see some of the other famous geoglyphs, such as the monkey and spider, while learning about their mysterious origins from a knowledgeable guide. The Hummingbird is considered to be one of the most well-preserved and recognizable geoglyphs, making it a must-see for photo-travelers interested in ancient civilizations and aerial photography. Visitors should keep in mind that flights can be affected by weather conditions, so be sure to plan accordingly and book in advance during peak season. Additionally, visitors are not allowed to walk on the geoglyphs themselves, in order to preserve their delicate nature.
