📍 United Kingdom
The Hill Garden and Pergola in Greater London, United Kingdom, is a tranquil and scenic spot in the heart of the city. The Hill Garden was constructed in 1902 by a well-known landscape architect and was one of the first public gardens opened in London. The Pergola, constructed in 1907, covers 101m of terraced walks, lined with 148 giant columns and capped by 17,000 wooden rafters. It creates a beautiful archway through the park providing lovely views of London's Golden Mile. Both structures are grade II listed and have important historical value. It is a great place for hikers and lovers of greenery to visit, with wide open spaces and plenty of spots to relax and take in the view. On Saturdays from April to October, the Hill Garden and Pergola host Picnic in the Park events which feature live music from local acts and classical bands. This is the perfect way to truly enjoy the unique beauty of this place.
