The Goodman Theatre, built in 1925 by architect Albert Chase McArthur, is located in the heart of downtown Chicago, Illinois. The Goodman is an iconic theatre and is one of the oldest and largest nonprofit theatres in the country.

The theatre has an incredible history and presence in the Chicago community featuring acclaimed productions of classic plays, musical theatre, and cutting-edge pieces by contemporary American playwrights. It features a variety of performances and showcases the work of aspiring and established artists. The Goodman houses three separate performance spaces: the Albert Theatre, the Owen Theatre, and the flexible studio spaces in the Festival Hall. It offers free theatre programming and events throughout the year. A tour of the theater is an excellent way to experience its intimate setting and to learn more about its musical performances, comedy shows, and original works.
