Brother’s Point, or Rubha nam Bràithrean, is a narrow headland on the eastern coast of Skye’s Trotternish Peninsula, near Culnacnoc between Portree and Staffin. Its steep green slopes fall toward dark volcanic cliffs, sea stacks and a rocky tidal platform, creating strong contrasts of color, texture and scale against the waters between Skye and Raasay. Middle Jurassic dinosaur footprints have been documented in the intertidal rocks, adding geological significance to the coastal landscape. The headland’s tapering ridge is its defining photographic feature, especially when side light emphasizes the folds in the grass and the layered cliffs. Access involves rough, often boggy ground, and the lower shore is tide-dependent and slippery.
