The Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua, Italy is a stunning architectural and artwork marvel of the city. It is a major pilgrimage site for those devoted to St. Anthony and features the tomb of the beloved saint. Built in 1238, the Italian Renaissance design of the cathedral showcases a harmonious blend of Gothic, Romanesque and Byzantine motifs. Inside the basilica are the friary chapel, 13th‐century mosaics, ceiling frescoes of the artist Tiepolo, and the altarpiece of Palma il Vecchio. Make sure to stop in the Saint's tomb and Treasury, where you can admire some of his relics and ancient manuscripts. The outside of the basilica provides a scene of grandeur, with the brick and white marble façade, paired with the bronze statues of evangelists that adorn the building.
