Teufelsberg
📍 From South Side, Germany
Teufelsberg (“devil’s mountain”) is a hill located in the western part of Berlin. It was created from piles of rubble collected after the bombings of World War II. Nowadays, the abandoned and decaying Teufelsberg is a popular urban exploration destination and is covered with graffiti. An old US listening station can also be found on the site. The hilltop provides stunning 360 degree views of Berlin, so it’s a great spot to walk around, explore the ruins and breathtaking views. A visit to the Teufelsberg is a unique experience in Berlin – and an interesting insight into a darker period of Germany’s past. Be sure to bring good walking shoes, and a flashlight if you plan to explore the abandoned station.
