📍 Ukraine
The Terebovlya Viaduct is a stone railway bridge near Plebanivka, on the outskirts of Terebovlya in Ukraine’s Ternopil region. Dating from the Austro-Hungarian period, it reflects the expansion of railways across the historical region of Galicia. A succession of rounded arches carries the railway across a valley, with substantial masonry piers giving the structure both weight and rhythm. Seen from below, the arches frame sections of the surrounding landscape; in a wider view, their repeating shapes create the bridge’s recognizable profile. The pale, weathered stone stands out against the vegetation, making its masonry texture as distinctive as its engineering form.
