The Templo de San Francisco Javier and Fuente Museo, in Tepotzotlán, Mexico, is an open-air complex that has been declared as a Cultural and Historic Monument. The complex includes a Franciscan convent and a baroque-style church built in the late 18th century by the Spanish. The church is built around a terrace and a central patio. The inside of the building contains intricate colonial designs and wall paintings drawing on several different sources, both religious and traditional. Other attractions within the complex include a museum, a baroque style fountain and a garden as well as a grand staircase. The baroque style fountain at the museum was built in the late 19th century and showcases a reproduction of an image of St. Francis of Assisi. The garden, botanical and horticultural specimens appear in colours, shapes and sizes making it enjoyable for visitors. The building has an eclectic architectural style reflecting more than two centuries of Catholic religious history.
