The Templo de la Concordia (Tempio della Concordia) is an ancient Greek Doric temple standing on the ridge of the Valley of the Temples near Agrigento in southern Sicily. Remarkable for its intact peristyle and simple, severe Doric proportions, the temple preserves a full colonnade and pediments that convey classical symmetry and scale rarely seen so completely on the Italian mainland. Photographically, the regular rhythm of fluted columns and the warm, weathered tufa limestone read especially well in side-light at low sun, while the temple’s raised platform and open surroundings allow unobstructed three-quarter and frontal compositions that emphasize depth and shadow. The monument sits within a larger archaeological park, so views include scattered ruins and olive trees that frame the classical silhouette.
