The Temple of Hadrian is a well-preserved Roman temple located in Selçuk, Turkey. It was built sometime around 130 A.D. to honor the Roman Emperor Hadrian and has become a popular tourist destination over the years. The structure is primarily built from limestone blocks and features Ionic columns that form a propylon, or entrance hall. The temple offers a stunning view of ancient city walls, the Selçuk Citadel, the basilica of St. John, and the Aegean Sea in the distance. Visitors can explore the historic ruins and discover their ancient past. There is also an informative museum nearby which offers an insight into the Roman period in Selçuk. The Temple of Hadrian is a great place to explore and find out more about the past.
