
Teatro Massimo Bellini is a prestigious opera house in Catania, Sicily, Italy. It is named after the native Catanian composer Vincenzo Bellini, who worked there before his death in 1835. Opened in 1890, Teatro Massimo Bellini is the largest opera house in Italy after La Scala in Milan. It has an awe-inspiring neo-classical exterior with three tiers of Baroque style seating, an impressive marble staircase, a sumptuous auditorium, and a frescoed ceiling. Historically, it has seen a number of important operas and concerts, and is also an important venue for cultural and entertainment events.
