Te Hoho Rock is a large boulder located within the Coromandel Coastal Walkway in New Zealand. It is situated near the fishing village Hahei, just a short drive from the luxury of Cathedral Cove. This rock offers mesmerizing views of the ocean and provides a great rest-stop for hikers on the Coromandel Coastal Track. It is a popular spot for photographers with plenty of opportunity to capture the sunset from the summit, and clear days provide an expansive views of the Mercury Islands. On the eastern side, the rock is composed of a layered sediment that is due to the mineral diagenesis. The daily tide changes also offer opportunities to capture the majestic waves crashing against the rock. The spot can usually be accessed from the main carpark, with a 5-minute bush walk up the hill.

Also, nearby is the Cathedral Cove Marine Reserve which is a popular destination for snorkeling and kayaking in the area with plenty of fish and bird life to be seen. If you’re looking for more of an adrenaline rush, paddleboarding and jet skiing are also popular activities. Come experience Te Hoho Rock – endless beautiful photo spots await!
