Tamatert is a small mountain village in the Middle Atlas region of Morocco, located a few kilometers from the town of Imilchil. The village itself is very photogenic, with its mud-brick houses, rolling hills of farmland and green grassthat wrap around the village. You can explore the Tamatert Kasbah, which is a large fort-like structure at the top of the hill, or take a hike to the local view point that overlooks the village. The area also contains some ancient dolmens that are worth a look. Tamatert and its surrounding valleys offer a unique look at traditional Moroccan mountain life and is a great option to escape urban life on your Morocco trip.
