Tallulah Gorge - Suspension Bridge
📍 United States
The suspension bridge in Tallulah Gorge State Park crosses the Tallulah River in Tallulah Falls, northeastern Georgia, about 80 feet above the rocky gorge floor. The river has carved a chasm nearly two miles long and up to 1,000 feet deep, making the bridge a striking human-scale element within a much larger landscape. Its narrow deck and suspension cables draw the eye toward steep rock walls, forested slopes and white water below, while Hurricane Falls adds another focal point along the surrounding trail. Unlike the park’s rim overlooks, the crossing places visitors inside the gorge, where the height of the walls becomes especially apparent. Reaching it requires descending a substantial staircase, with the corresponding climb on the return.
