Tall John Abbey Tower is a medieval bell tower situated in the center of Middelburg, Netherlands. Built in the 13th century, it stands at 115 feet tall and offers some of the best views of the city. Visitors can gain access to the top of the tower via two interior staircases. There is also a belfry that is still used to this day for traditional Dutch bells. The tower's two bronze bells were made in 1556 and feature the coat of arms of the towns of Middelburg and Goes. Surrounding the tower is a large cobblestone courtyard, complete with benches and a small pond. Visitors can sit and enjoy the views of the city streets below. At the base of the tower is the John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, which dates back to 1650.
