The Taiping Suspension Bridge is a must-visit destination for anyone travelling to Taiwan. Located in the village of Xiakeng, it is believed to be the longest suspension bridge between two mountain ranges in the world. The total length of the bridge over the Taiping Creek is 641 metres, with a maximum height of 18 metres above the water. Its 10-metre wide double-decked roadway, with two sides and pedestrian lanes underneath, offers a unique experience of being suspended between two cliff levels. The 270- degree view of the surrounding landscape is simply breathtaking. Visitors can spend hours admiring the beautiful mountains and lush vegetation, as well as enjoying a variety of activities, such as bird watching or simply taking a leisurely stroll across the bridge.
