📍 From Singapore Botanic Gardens, Singapore
Swan Lake lies near Tanglin Gate in the historic core of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Created in 1866, it is the gardens’ oldest ornamental lake and takes its name from the mute swans long associated with its waters. A small island planted with slender nibong palms gives the scene its distinctive vertical rhythm, while dense tropical foliage frames broad reflections of sky, trees and passing waterbirds. The calm surface and layered greenery offer a quieter visual counterpoint to Singapore’s urban skyline, especially when low light catches the palms and ripples.
