Suraj Pol - Sun Gate is one of the four main gates of Jaipur, India. It is located in the south-eastern corner of the city and provides an amazing view of the ancient Jaipur city wall. On the entrance of the Sun Gate, there is a large space in the middle of the gate, which is known as Khooni Darwaza or "Bloody Gate". This spectacular gate was built in the late 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. The remarkable design is marked by huge 8-meter tall arches and two massive wooden doors at the entrance. Next to the Sun Gate is the Ganesh Pol or Elephant Gate, which opens up to an impressive market with exciting products and handicrafts. From the top of the Suraj Pol, visitors can see panoramic views of the city, surrounding farmlands and blue waters of Mansagar lake in the distant horizon.
