The Sundial Bridge is a iconic bridge located in Redding, United States. Designed by the renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, it spans the width of the Sacramento River. It is one of the world's largest sundial footbridges, and is both a symbol and a tourist attraction for the city. One of the most impressive features is its design: the wings of the bridge are painted in bright yellow, white, and orange colors, and the bright contrast with the greenish background of the river and the forest give a truly magical feel. The bridge also has several pedways that are perfect for walking, biking, skating or simply admiring the beauty of nature. In the center of the bridge, there is a 700-ton granite cablestayed bridge that acts as the sundial's gnomon, casting a shadow onto a 750-foot diameter grid below. It is an impressive sight during any time of day, and an experience that any traveler should try.
