The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat, Oman, is a stunning architectural marvel and a significant religious site. Completed in 2001, it was commissioned by Sultan Qaboos to mark his 30th year of reign. The mosque is a testament to Islamic architecture, blending traditional Middle Eastern styles with modern design elements. It features a central dome rising 50 meters high and a minaret reaching 90 meters, creating a striking silhouette against the Omani skyline.

The mosque is renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship, including intricate mosaics, detailed carvings, and an expansive prayer hall that can accommodate up to 20,000 worshippers. One of its most remarkable features is the enormous hand-woven carpet in the main prayer hall, which was once the largest in the world, and the magnificent chandelier made of Swarovski crystals, which was also the largest of its kind at the time of installation. Visitors should note that the mosque is open to non-Muslims during specific hours, allowing tourists to appreciate its beauty and tranquility. Modest dress is required, and women are asked to cover their hair. The mosque's serene gardens and reflective pools add to the peaceful ambiance, making it a must-visit destination for those exploring Oman's rich cultural heritage.
