Sulakskiy Kan'on, also known as the Sulak Canyon, is a striking natural wonder located in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. It's one of the deepest canyons in Europe, with a depth of over 1,920 meters and a length of approximately 53 kilometers, surpassing even the famous Grand Canyon in depth. The canyon offers dramatic landscapes with steep cliffs and lush green riverbanks. For photographers, the best time to capture its stunning views is during spring and early summer when the Sulak River, flowing at the bottom, is at its most vibrant turquoise hue. The canyon's unique topography creates stunning light patterns and shadow plays at sunrise and sunset. Be sure to explore various vantage points around the villages of Dubki for different perspectives on the canyon.
