The Subotica Town hall is a classic example of Secessionist architecture and one of the city's most iconic structures. The building has a distinctively Neo-Renaissance façade, consisting of two stories with a central avant-corps, flanked by two symmetrical wings. The façade is decorated with white, grey and yellow stone, crowned by two towers, each topped with a gilded cupola. Inside, the building houses a local history museum, the National Theatre and several other institutions.
Just recently, a new fountain was added to the Town Hall's outdoor area. Alluring and that adds to the beauty of the building, it boasts a massive structure in the middle, crowned by four bronze statues representing the four rivers of the city, with colorful water jets and lit in the evening hours. The nearby Flower Square also allows for some special images, as well as the surrounding area with its wide alleys, period buildings and quaint shops.
