Street art in Polignano a Mare is woven through the whitewashed lanes of its historic center, perched on limestone cliffs above the Adriatic south of Bari. Rather than forming a single mural district, it appears on doors, stair risers, shutters and small wall surfaces, where painted figures and handwritten verses interrupt the pale stone architecture. Among the town’s most recognizable interventions are poetic inscriptions by the artist known as Guido il Flâneur, whose words turn steps and alleyways into intimate reading spaces. The contrast of dark lettering, vivid paint, weathered masonry and bright Mediterranean light gives these works a strong sense of place while preserving the scale and texture of the old town.
