📍 Belgium
Ghent’s street art forms a contemporary layer across its medieval urban fabric, appearing on shutters, side walls and designated mural spaces throughout the Belgian city. Its best-known concentration is Werregarenstraat, the narrow “Graffiti Street” linking Hoogpoort and Onderstraat in the historic center, where artists continually repaint the walls. Dense tags, large characters and overlapping colors make the alley feel like an evolving visual archive rather than a fixed gallery. For photographs, the tight perspective emphasizes its wall-to-wall texture, while doorways, bicycles and pedestrians reveal the scale and everyday life of the setting. Because works are regularly covered by new paint, each visit records a temporary version of the street.
