📍 From Rue de Bon Secours, Belgium
Street art in Brussels spans comic-strip murals, stencils, graffiti and paste-ups, bringing illustrated scenes into the Belgian capital’s everyday streetscape. The city’s Comic Book Route turns building façades and exposed side walls into large-scale panels, reflecting Belgium’s influential comic-strip tradition. Near the Grand-Place, the Tintin mural on Rue de l’Étuve shows Tintin, Captain Haddock and Snowy descending a fire escape, setting Hergé’s recognizable drawing style against the surrounding brickwork. Elsewhere, contemporary street art adds a less formal layer, particularly around the Marolles and canal districts. The distinctive visual contrast lies in the scale: oversized characters and bold graphic outlines rise above shopfronts, pedestrians and narrow streets, making the city itself part of the composition.
