📍 Romania
Strada Alba Iulia is a short pedestrian street linking Piața Victoriei with Piața Libertății in Timișoara’s historic Cetate district. Running beside the building that houses the Romanian National Opera, it connects the city’s broad central promenade with the older square at the heart of the former fortress town. Closely spaced historic façades, decorative upper floors and ground-level shopfronts give the route a more intimate scale than either square. The street has also hosted overhead canopies of colorful umbrellas, a temporary installation that adds a bright geometric ceiling to the narrow streetscape; these displays are not a permanent feature.
