Stocking Island Beach lies on the long, narrow island facing George Town across Elizabeth Harbour, just off Great Exuma. With no road bridge, the island is reached by boat or water taxi, and its setting feels distinct from the town despite the short crossing. The harbour-facing shore is known for pale sand, clear turquoise shallows and views toward anchored sailboats and George Town, while the Atlantic side is more exposed and rugged. Photographs often draw on the contrast between bright water, low green vegetation and curving sandbars revealed by the tide; from elevated parts of the island, the sheltered harbour and open ocean can appear within the same broad coastal scene.
