Statue of Liberty Paris

The Statue of Liberty Paris is an iconic Parisian landmark, located on the banks of the River Seine. Standing 88 m (290 ft) tall, the statue is reminiscent of the Statue of Liberty in New York City, USA. Standing atop the pont de Grenelle bridge, its lightning rod decorated headpiece, red robes and glinting torch brighten up the Seine's flow. The figure of a woman holding a Colonial hat with a Phrygian cap is made from sheet iron and copper, and gives a serene welcome to Paris visitors. The overall design was created by architect Bartholdi, with assistance from engineer Ernest Gautier. The monument was dedicated in 1889 during the universal exhibition of Paris, and is a symbol of liberty and fraternity. With views of the Eiffel Tower in the background, the Statue of Liberty Paris is a great spot for taking picutres and appreciating the capital's beauty.
