Starved Rock Park is a popular state park located along the Illinois River in Oglesby, United States. Visitors come to explore the 13-mile stretch of canyons, cliffs, and waterfalls within the park. Popular activities include hiking, bird watching, picnicking, and fishing. Many of the park's trails lead to stunning views of the river, and there are plenty of spots to capture unforgettable photographs. The park is also home to diverse wildlife, including bald eagles, turkey vultures, deer, and many more species. Visitors also come for a glimpse of Starved Rock, a sandstone butte that stands 125 feet high near the center of the park. The park features two visitor centers, both of which house information about the area's natural and cultural history. There are also gift shops and snack bars at both centers.
