📍 United Kingdom
Staple Newk is a cliff-edge viewpoint at RSPB Bempton Cliffs, north of Bridlington on the Flamborough Headland. It looks across sheer white chalk faces cut into narrow ledges, where gannets, guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes gather during the spring and summer breeding season. The contrast between pale rock, dark bands of nesting birds and the shifting blue-grey North Sea gives the scene its distinctive scale and texture; gannets often pass close to the viewpoint before sweeping below the cliff line. Access is along the reserve’s marked paths, and visitors should remain behind the barriers to protect both the fragile cliff edge and nesting wildlife.
