Stadtturm is a medieval tower in the heart of Innsbruck, originally built in the 15th century as a watchtower and fire lookout. It stands near the famous Golden Roof and offers visitors a glimpse into the city’s past through its charming gothic architecture and spiral staircase. Climb the 148 steps to reach the viewing platform, rewarded with breathtaking 360-degree vistas over the Old Town, the Inn River, and the surrounding Alps. A small admission fee applies, but the panoramic views and unique historic atmosphere make it a worthwhile stop for travelers exploring Innsbruck’s cultural core. Between April and October, the tower sometimes extends opening hours, allowing for sunset views.
