📍 From Vík í Mýrdal Beach, Iceland
Stack Sea and Reynisdrangar, in Vik, Iceland, is a spectacular place not to be missed! It's a cliff of basalt columns with huge sea stacks on a beach by the ocean, providing a dramatic landscape. The stacks are a result of coastal erosion, standing 66ft (20m) tall. Legend says that the stacks are trolls who turned to stone for being out too late at night! The Reynisdrangar rock formations in the sea, between the stacks and the shore, are formed by strong tidal currents. The views from the high cliff with the dark volcanic sand beach below and soaking in the waves, is a sight to behold!
