St Wilfrid's Church is a Grade II* listed building that has been standing in the small village of Ribchester since the 12th century. The church is a prime example of Anglo-Saxon architecture, with its Norman doorway contrasting with later Gothic enlargement. Other attractions near the church include a 14th century font and a wooden eagle lectern, which is believed to be the oldest in England. Inside the building, visitors can admire some unique tapestries, including a particularly impressive one dedicated to St Wilfrid. While visiting St Wilfrid's Church, visitors can pay their respects at the War Memorial and visit the grave of Richard Arkwright, the great industrial revolutionist. The surrounding area is also known for its scenic and tranquil walks, making it the perfect place to relax.
