St. Stephen's Basilica is one of the most important landmarks of Budapest, Hungary. Located on Szent István tér, this neo-classical Cathedral is the largest one in the country and also the third-largest church in Hungary. Inside, visitors will find a museum and several tombs of Hungarian notable people. Highlights include the neo-renaissance style altar, and the six giant bell towers which date back to the 19th century. One of the most impressive features is the 96-meter (314 ft) high dome, which is believed to be the second-highest in Hungary. Also, to marvel at artwork such as the mosaic of St. Stephen and the painting of the Last Judgment. This basilica is also the main venue for special events in the city, such as exhibitions, concerts, and other church-related celebrations. Entrance to the basilica is free.
