St. Patrick’s Cathedral is a Roman Catholic Cathedral located in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It is the seat of the archbishop of the Archdiocese of New York and a prominent landmark in the city. St. Patrick's Cathedral was completed in 1879, and is one of the most impressive neo-Gothic buildings in the US. The cathedral is usually open for visitors, who can explore the interior, admire the artwork and beautiful decorations, and hop into the chapels. In the crypts, visitors will find the remains of many prominent persons, such as the influential Cardinal Spellman. The spectacular facade is decorated with stones and statues, and with the lit towers it stands out among the buildings around it. Visitors can attend Mass at the cathedral, and it is also a popular spot for weddings.
