St. Nicholas Church is an 18th-century Protestant Baroque church in the city of Leipzig, Germany. It's one of the oldest churches in Leipzig, built between 1732 and 1741 according to plans by Johann Friedrich Nettenstrop. The church is best known for its large organ, which was built in 1731 and contains more than 8,000 pipes, making it the largest instrument in Germany and the third largest in Europe. It is also home to a number of historical relics, such as the original secret door used to hide Lutheran clergy during the Counter-Reformation, and several priceless paintings. Visitors can also explore the crypt and view several of Luther's letters. Entry is free, and guided tours are available in both German and English. St. Nicholas Church is a must-see for any visitor to Leipzig, with its stunning fusion of Baroque architecture and German historical heritage.
