St Martin's Church, located in Colmar, France, is one of the city's premier attractions. The church is a late gothic style building, with two slender towers reaching 82 meters. Constructed beginning in 1289, it was originally part of a Franciscan Friary community destroyed in the 15th century. Up until 1945 the church served as a church of the Jewish community, and it was only then given back to the Catholic Church. Inside the church, visitors can admire its beautiful stained glass windows and intricate frescos, as well as a 16th century crucifix. The building stands in the centre of Colmar, making it a popular destination for sightseers.
