St. Elisabeth is one of the oldest churches in the Bavarian city of Nürnberg, built in the Gothic style between 1280 and 1343. It is one of the most majestic churches in the city and a must-see for any visitor to Nürnberg. The impressive building features a 117.5-metre tall tower that dominates the skyline, and which can be climbed for magnificent views over the city. Inside you can admire the stunning 13th-century stained-glass windows depicting scenes from the life of St. Elisabeth, as well as other unique sculptures, frescoes and paintings. Other noteworthy features of the church include the interior organ with its impressive case, the echoing acoustics, and the elaborate stained-glass windows in the choir. The church also consists of a chapel, crypt and sacristy, making it a fascinating place to explore.
