📍 Germany
St. Cassius & St. Florentius, better known as Bonn Minster or Bonner Münster, is the Catholic basilica on Münsterplatz in central Bonn. Dedicated to the city’s patron saints, Cassius and Florentius, it is a landmark of Bonn’s medieval religious history. Much of the present church took shape between the 11th and 13th centuries, blending Romanesque architecture with early Gothic elements. Its five towers, dominated by the tall central crossing tower, create a distinctive skyline, while rounded apses and tiers of arcading give the exterior a strong rhythm. The 12th-century cloister offers a more intimate view of the complex through repeated arches and slender paired columns. Outside, two monumental sculpted heads representing the saints provide a striking modern contrast to the medieval church.
