St. Ann's Academy is an iconic stately building located on Humboldt Street in Victoria, Canada. It was constructed 1861-66, but has seen a number of renovations throughout the years. The most famous of these was completed by the English architect Sir Francis Rattenbury in 1887. The building was used as an educational facility for nearly 100 years, first as a Catholic Academy for girls and then as a provincial boarding school. Today, the building has been restored to its original heritage features and now houses several small businesses and the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Several of the original classrooms still remain and the main staircase is still recognizable. The Academy's neo-classical design is unique in Victoria and is definitely worth exploring and photographing.
