St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is an impressive Orthodox cathedral located in the center of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Built in Neo-Byzantine style in 1912, the cathedral stands out among the architectural heritage of the country. St. Alexander Nevsky is said to be the largest Orthodox church on the Balkan peninsula and is a great sight to see with its golden domes and bell tower, picture-perfect views over the municipality garden and domed roof. Its stunning interior features a stunning mosaic ceiling and stunningly painted walls and sculptures. Apart from the cathedral, visitors can also tour the crypt and learn the fascinating history associated with this remarkable monument. The official opening of the site was in 1924 and since then, it has been a beacon of religious and historical importance.
