The Spreebogen is a complex of buildings situated along Berlin's Spree river. It serves as the government district, and is home to many of Berlin's important political and cultural institutions. Its most recognizable landmark is the glass dome of the Reichstag, the German parliament. There is also the historic Bellevue Palace, the Chancellery as well as the Federal Press Office. The area offers a glimpse into German history, with many monuments and memorials featuring prominently. Streets are lined with trees and wide cobblestone pathways make for easy walking.
