Spichrz is a hotel and restaurant housed in a historic granary on Mostowa Street, beside the Bridge Gate at the Vistula edge of Toruń’s Old Town. Known as the Swedish Granary, the building connects today’s hospitality with the river trade that helped shape Toruń as a Hanseatic merchant city. Its name is an old Polish word for a grain store, making the building’s former purpose part of its present identity. Inside, exposed brickwork and heavy timber beams give the rooms a distinctive warehouse character. Outside, the neighboring Gothic gate places Spichrz within the recognizable transition between the medieval streets and the riverfront.
