📍 Italy
Spiaggia di Vignanotica is a pebble beach on the Adriatic coast of the Gargano peninsula, between Mattinata and Vieste in the province of Foggia. Its defining feature is the steep, pale limestone cliffs rising directly behind the shore, with caves and recesses opening along their base. Light-colored pebbles, blue-green water and dark Mediterranean vegetation above the rock give this stretch of coast its distinctive contrasts. Views along the shoreline reveal the cliffs’ layered textures and imposing scale, while shadows beneath the overhangs accentuate the sculpted rock. The shore is reached on foot by a path through the coastal vegetation.
