Spezzola and Alpe Spezzola are located on a high ridge in the comune of Barni, in the province of Como in Northern Italy. The area is known for its view of the Alps, forests, and its picturesque Alpine meadows. It is easily reached via the A51 autostrada going east out of Como. At the exit of San Fedele Intelvi, take the SP35 road and then drive up the mountain to the parking area after 2.5 miles. From there it's a pleasant 1-mile hike to the top of the ridge. At the top you can enjoy the stunning 360-degree views of 8 different alpine peaks, including Ticino, Cima Rasa, Drosa, and Resegone. It a great place for hikers, with a variety of trails for all skill levels. Wildlife enthusiasts can also explore the surrounding forests, with opportunities to spot ibex and red deer. Bring warm clothing for chilly evenings and be prepared for sudden changes in weather.
