Sligachan Old Bridge is an early-19th-century stone crossing over the River Sligachan on the Isle of Skye, close to the road junction linking Portree, Broadford and western Skye. Now bypassed by the modern A87 bridge, its three shallow arches form a strong foreground against the open moorland and the jagged Black Cuillin. The classic view follows the river toward the mountains, where dark rock, fast-changing cloud and patches of reflected sky give the scene its distinctive drama. Weathered masonry and clear, peat-tinted water add texture, while lower river levels reveal boulders and pools beneath the arches.
