Slangkop Lighthouse is located on the Cape Peninsula in Cape Town, South Africa. It is the tallest of all its lighthouses, with a total height of 47 meters. It was built in 1919 and is known to be one of the most powerful lights in South Africa. It was used to guide the ships which were passing the Cape of Good Hope. Today, its beautiful view of the South Atlantic Ocean makes it a great tourist attraction for visitors to Cape Town. From the top of the lighthouse, visitors can get breathtaking views of False Bay and the surrounding Hout Bay area. There are also small trails and lookouts around its lower gardens which offer some incredible photo opportunities. The lighthouse also provides a remarkable spot for stargazing. Visitors should note that the entry to the lighthouse is closed for visitors.
