Skellig Michael Island is located off the coast of County Kerry, in Ireland. It is a Unesco World Heritage Site and an important Franciscan Monastery UNESCO World Heritage Site. The island consists of two steep, dramatic islands rising out of the Atlantic Ocean. It is home to an array of seabirds, as well as a number of early Christian monastic sites.The best way to visit the island is by boat. There are several boat companies that offer trips to the island, and the views of the rugged coastlines, steep cliffs and picturesque islands are worth the journey. It's also a great spot for whale-watching. Once on the island, visitors can explore the ancient remains of the monastery and its nearby citadel, as well as take leisurely strolls around the island. The island is also a fantastic spot for birdwatching, with arctic skuas, puffins, gannets, and more to be seen soaring above the blue waters. It's an adventure like no other!
