The Sinan Pasha Mosque is a historical fortress-like mosque dating back to the late 16th century. Located on a hill overlooking the city of Prizren in Kosovo, the Ottoman-era mosque was once partially destroyed by a fire but was restored in 2002, maintaining much of its original grandeur. Built with white stone, the mosque is distinguished by a large dome, and a remarkable pentagonal prayer hall decorated with intricate tilework and art. Inside the courtyard, visitors can explore a cemetery and original structures inherent to the site. The exterior is worth exploring too, with its staircases, small doors, and narrow corridors. As it is one of the best surviving examples of classic Ottoman architecture in the region, be sure to add it to your Kosovo itinerary.
